I have read Carmi's blog Written Inc for a little more than a year. He frequently makes me pause and rethink how I shoot certain things. His challenge this week is Close Up.
Last week the kids and I found a chrysalis. We had so much fun with the butterflies this past spring. We carefully lifted the chrysalis off the cardboard (it was stuck on the bottom of a pile of broken down boxes in the garage). Finally after just two or three days, Will comes busting out of his room saying the butterfly had come out. Turns out it was a black and yellow moth. That poor moth came out fighting and was beating against the mesh of the butterfly net. We had to let it go immediately.

Thinking I would get a great shot of the moth.....we took it outside near some flowering bushes. But it wasn't to be....
Though we did find Up Close with some cool seed pods that had fallen off the trees. Fall is definitely in the air here in KY.

That is an excellent shot, Tommie. I love the composition and the depth of field.
Just think how different fall will be in KY vs. TX!
When we found out we were moving, I told Husband I just wanted seasons. I am so excited to see colors on the leaves!
You are so lucky to be experiencing Fall in Kentucky instead of non-Fall back in TX :) Yay for seasons!!!
Beautiful capture!
HOLY COW!!! That is an amazing shot! WOW!

Amazing!
Your fall looks more fall than what we've gotten so far in Massachusetts! I think I am going to hunt out some Fall this weekend- but it's soupposed to be high 70's into the 80's with almost 100% humidity- so I might not have much luck...
This is gorgeous! Sorry I've missed a new webdesign - and a week of blog posts.... sigh....
