Some Bloggy Bling and a cute little mug

 Mommy Brain Reports

My lovely friend CrackerJack over at
Izzy N' Emmy has given me the BrainyBlog Award. Now if that isn't cool, I don't know what is! Thanks so much Alisha for thinking of me at Tuesday Update!

I proudly accept this award, so I must . . .

1) Think of at least 5 bloggers that you believe to be “Brainy Bloggers”

2) Post it on your blog for all to see! Let them know you’ve awarded them by email, twitter, etc or via a comment on their blog!

3) Share some linky love and link back to both the person who awarded you. Izzy N' Emmy

4) Come back to the Brainy Blog Headquarters to sign our Mr. Linky and then pass it on!

I would like to pass this award onto the following brainy blogs:

So go on and visit some new brainy bloggers.

Guess what came today??

My dining room furniture! Will wanted his big mug in it...and it had to be the crazy face. What you can't see is the long bench on the side Will is on. It can slide in between the table legs completely if we need. I am not sure I am happy with the placement of the dishes in there, but for now it works! The new light looks great. I am very happy with the way it all came together. Thanks Husband, for all your hard work, it looks wonderful!

Going green, bloggy love, and a meme

Lotus of Sarcastic Mom challenged any and everyone to participate in Project Support Beauty in Nature!

My little attempt at making the world greener......a couple of weeks ago I picked up some of the reusable green bags at the commissary for a mere $0.70 a piece. I bought ten thinking it would be enough. (A little commissary FYI: the baggers work for tips. I usually tip based on how many bags I have.) Even though these bags are about the size of a brown paper bag, I still ended up with about ten plastic bags.
So this weekend when I went grocery shopping, I ended up with only TWO plastic bags! We usually have no less than twenty bags. Since I go shopping every other week, this is a huge dent in how many bags are coming into our home! They did wrap the meat in plastic before they put them in the bags. I am thankful for that though.
I need to look into some reusable fruit and veggies bags now.

Alright, anyone who bothers to visit my little blog....feel free to grab this bloggy love I received from Jen. Spread some love, y'all!

I am also doing a meme catch up....

5) Tag 5 people!

"Still, there was no one. So when my friend Ian called and said that he wanted to fix me up with Evan, I was more than keyed up to go. Evan was an investment banker. "

This is a great easy read if you are into fluff. I laughed so much while reading this. While reading this book, I could easily imagine myself going through the same stages of life. The author must be close to my age (late 30's....at least for a few more months!) I will definitely pick up her next book!
***Just a little PS....spell check still isn't working, so I can't be held responsible for any spelling errors!***

How 'bout them apples!

how 'bout them apples, originally uploaded by tommiea1.

Cheeky gave this to me! And you know the little post she wrote when she received it - I could have written the exact same thing so what am I gonna do - well I am gonna "post lift*" it (yes, that is a new word made up by Cheeky herself...feel free to lift it as well. So here we go:

"I have to admit, I am a nerd, and I always get so excited when I get awards or when people just comment on my posts. I actually will call my hubby at work and say "I have 20 comments" or "someone likes me and gave me an award."

All while, I am sure, his eyes are glazing over and he's thinking "why in the world did I marry this woman?" And then he remembers I have a nice.... sense of humor.

Anyway- for some reason Cheeky believes I am Excellent!! :) Thanks, for thinking I am excellent and thanks to anyone who actually reads this blog! I appreciate it.

See.....she said it perfectly - I couldn't have said it any better. Now....I get to pass this along to other EXCELLENT blogs.....Oh there are so many....so many indeed.

reflection award

After thinking about this award for almost a month from Natalie of Tulip Mom....I finally got around to it.

I don't remember when I started reading her blog. I think it was back in the summer. She has a son with Asperger's. She is also pregnant again after many tries. I love her little letters she writes to Sweet Boy. So thanks, I do appreciate this award (even if it took me almost a month to bestow it on a few more bloggers.)

Anyway, according to the rules,

This award should make you reflect on five bloggers who have been an encouragement, a source of love, impacted you in some way...

I am grateful for the following 5 bloggers who encourage and inspire me:

Libby -- from A Study of Schoolbooks and Shoes....Libby's is another one of my favorite blogs. I am way impressed with her cooking skills amongst other things. We tried her banana bread and it was to die for! Sometimes banana bread can be dense, but hers was fluffy almost!

Lisa-- from Fleur de Lisa -- She has an amazing eye for photography. The pictures she captures on a daily basis inspire me to play around more with my new camera.

Works for Mom from What Works for Us-- I think I found her blog during a Thursday 13 post. She has a great attitude...Go help her decide what to do with her mom jeans...I was seriously cracking up about that one.

Carrieb -- from Blah, blah, blog....She throws amazing parties, does amazing scrapbook projects, and is all around fun.

Lisagh - from Grosgrain Garage- Lisagh first started reading my blog some time back. I quickly became a fan and friend. She shows many sides to herself. The fun zanny side you can imagine going out and having a fun time with...to the serious side during a break up. Her honesty is amazing.

When I started this blog, it was to keep in touch with Mike and family far away. But what I have found is so many great bloggers. I do enjoy my time in the evenings once the house is picked up and the kids are in bed....I can sit down with a few friends and get a few laughs. Some days those laughs go far when I am feeling all sappy.

I have another award....The Egel Nest Blog Award to give out as well. So start pimping....just kidding, I'll get to that one some time this week.
