Am I living in a zoo house?

This summer has definitely been a hectic one.
  • Went to the beach '08 for a week
  • We have SOLD a house.
  • Lived in Oklahoma for almost a month....most of it without Husband
  • Lived in Ohio for three weeks
  • Bought a house in KY and painted every square inch of it

So, when we were in OH and I saw this cool little bead toy of cousin S's....I knew I had to grab my camera and get down on his level. While my life can lend itself to being a "zoo house", I don't know that I would change it at all.

PS....can I have just one little whiny rant? Tonight the kids were playing outside after dinner. There is a four year old boy across the street. The dad was out there. The mom just had a baby a few weeks ago. He finally strikes up a conversation with Husband....all I heard was "moving as much as y'all do can't be good for the kids. Don't they need some stability?" Whether or not this is what he said, I shut down after a bit. I can only do the fake-smile-and nod for only so long. More times that not if we don't live on post, we live in a neighborhood with some military folk.....not the deal here. We are the lone ones on our street. Yes, you have been here your entire life. But I think my kids are fairly stable.....maybe even more so, because BOTH of them can make friends at the drop of a hat!

Okay, rant over.

Holy COW! You put my busy summer of the move to SHAME!

And I think all of us live in a Zoo House with kids. Some people just handle it better than me. :)

I'm sorry you had to deal with someone talking out of turn about something he doesn't know about. That's always hard.

Perfect shot! I certainly know the feeling.

Wow! What a summer! All we did was buy a house, paint the bathroom and try not to kill the flowers. I'm not sure your summer has been serene enough to call it a zoo.
There will always be someone who thinks that they know your business better than you do.
I'd toilet paper his house.

Nice photo! And it pays to have a "filter" on when other people chose to judge - be it on this occasion, or through a pregnancy, or for other choices you make. Someone always has an opinion...

I will never complain about being busy--or at least if I do, please remind me of this post!
That neighbor sounds like a total insensitive jerk! there's one in every neighborhood. at least you found him quick and you know who to avoid.

Great job getting through all of those changes and moves. You are doing a fantastic job!

Yes, you do have a busy life - but you seem to handle it all with grace.

As for the neighbor's comments, ignore them. The most important thing in the life of your children is that they know that they are loved. It's obvious that they truly are - both by you and your husband. They will remember this first and foremost compared to where they lived, etc...

Your children are happy, healthy, and most of all loved. They're just fine...

How do some people think they have the right to provide opinions unasked for about people's private lives? It never ceases to amze me- you have more grace than I , because I would have said something along the linesof "Well lucky us- this time we moved next door to Dr. Phil's wanna be, we should be all straightened out by the time we move next".

That looks like a great toy.

tommie some people are just asses. Regardless of his opinion of military families/moving he should have kept it to himself.

Gee whiz people can still somehow surprise me!

Oh honey.... Kids need stability.

But they need stability in the home. Parents, married or unmarried, who love them, know them, engage them and care for them every single day of their lives. Period.

Most kids are lucky to get small periods of this stability. You give L and W this every single day; so does action jackson.

Your neighbor's just wrong.

Love the photo!

Some people will always feel free to comments on life choices different then their own. The stability comes from your family...not where they happen to sleep. No worries, your kids will be fine.

yep, I agree with the others stability is what you give as a family not where you live.
Cute shot.

First off, love the photo. secondly...ugh people suck. Why would that dude say that...even if he was thinking it. doh!

I feel as many others...stability is definatly IN the home, not WHERE the home is.
hugs!

I like that shot too T, and holy crap that is one busy @ss summer. Let's hope fall is much more relaxing. At least no deployment, right?

We have that toy too! I had one when I was little that was similar and loved it, so I wanted my kids to have one. They, of course, aren't interested. So its going into the yard sale pile, unfortunately.

Woah! I'm really digging the template/theme of this site. It's simple, yet effective.
A lot of times it's difficult to get that "perfect balance" between user friendliness and visual appearance. I must say that you've done a superb job with
this. Additionally, the blog loads very fast for me on Internet explorer.

Excellent Blog!
