This weekend we just kind of hung out and tried to stay busy. It rained a bit, so it is finally cooling off a bit. While we were playing outside, it felt like we were in a Wild Kingdom episode. We saw this cardinal at the bird feeder. I was telling the kids to look at the cardinal...and Livi said, "Look Mom!! There is a red one too!" She didn't want to believe me that the red one was called a cardinal...because you know two year olds know everything. 
We also have a hummingbird that eats from these flowers that are in a huge basket on the porch. Will thought it was a huge wasp at first! I tried to get a picture of it, but he is just too quick. He is quite small with a green body. 
While I was looking online for a dinosaur costume, Livi kept telling me she wanted "princess" this and "Princess" that....so I broke down and gave her her Decorated Duckling tutu. I don't think she is going to take it off until November! So far, she hasn't asked to wear it to school. I always see these kids in the most ragamuffin get ups.....leopard prints leggings, tutus, and a tiara.....I know that Mom is having the "choose your battles" conversation in her head! 
I had to get up a bit early today since I volunteered to do "Car Doors" at school. The parents can just drive up and a parent escorts the kid in.....I love love love this. But getting to school 30 minutes early to do this was HARD!! I opened up the garage door to take the trash to the curb, and this rainbow greeted me. Kind gave me a little bit of hope to hang on to.....a great start to a hectic day.

kerry- it is a Canon EOS digital rebel Xti with a Tamron lens....earlier this year I left my camera out in the rain for about three days....sometime in May or June. I know I blogged about it. Anyway, I was getting a digital SLR for my birthday in July...I just ended up getting it a little early. If you click on my Flickr badge on the left, you can see some I took on the beach that I loved!!
Look at that cuuute little purple punkin running around. Great pic. Love the early morning rainbow. I never get up that early. Im a noght time girl.

I love the decorated duckling tutu! I am going to order Maddie one but she's not allowed to wear a tutu at dance class and I don't want to confuse her right at the beginning.
