Overheard in the life of Livi today

watching the acorns float away, originally uploaded by tommiea1.

Livi went to run some errands with me today. We had to go to two places. First, stop at Target. Those super cute beach towels they had last summer are 75% off. Note to kids with teachers: I am going to wrap a bottle of sunscreen with a magazine in it for an end of the year teacher gift. I know, I know, it is way too early to be thinking end of the year gifts, but at 75% off, I can stick it in the linen closet for a few months.

Next, we had to run by the grocery store. Since I was close to the super Walmart in the town right next to the post, I went there. DUDE, I did NOT look at my calendar. It was payday weekend. What could have been a 15 minute ....run in, run out, took almost an hour.

Livi talked the ENTIRE time.....jabber jabber jabber......yada yada yada......yack yack yack. We finally got both errands accomplished. I even remembered to bring my own bags. On the way home, I remembered there was a woman stocking the bagged cabbage, so I had said to myself, (in between Livi's yacking), "I will come back and grab a bag when she is done. I need some fruit, so I'll swing back by before I go checkout."

Well, you guessed it. I forgot to get the bagged cabbage. (We made this awesome spicy coleslaw tonight). So , we had to stop at the freaking Wa1mart where we live. DUDE, not only one Wa1mart, but two on payday weekend. By now my ears are numb from her jibber jabber. I decide to offer her a stick of chewing gum.

Me: Livi, would you like a piece of gum?

Livi: Oh yeah, I would love pizza gum. I love pizza gum. (She has NEVER had gum, let alone "pizza" gum. Oh this pizza gum is good.
Mommy, the rain is in my face, it is getting on my pizza gum. Can you carry me so my pizza gum doesn't get wet? I can't chew wet pizza gum. I need you to cover my face. Oh yeah, thanks mom, now my pizza gum won't get wet.

yada, yada yada.....ever had pizza gum?

2 Walmarts in one day IS a lot .... ouch!

I'm cracking up at the whole giving her gum thing to shut her up. SB would not stop with the questions on our way home yesterday and finally after 10 minutes of trying to answer all his questions and concentrate on the road all while having some serious Braxton Hicks, I had to tell him we weren't talking for the rest of the ride home.

SHUT the f**** up already!!! :)

tulipmom-if I was into dropping f-bombs, it would have been said. I am serious, she talked non stop, except maybe to take a breath for two hours!

janet-she was in awe....a mere moment in time when she wasn't talking! LOL

Just to clarify ... I didn't actually use the f-word, just wanted to! :)

tulipmom-You are way to precious to even think that word would grace your lips.....think it, don't we all!

That pic of Livi is so dang cute, and the convo is even cuter! Pizza gum. That's one I've never heard before! She's seriously funny!

You know, pizza gum could be a big seller to America's youth. You may have a lil entrepreneur on your hands. Just something to think about.

Two Wal-Marts in one day and you live to write about it. I mean, I KNEW you were a strong woman and all, but now...NOW you're super-freak strong. I want to BE you with your super strength.

jen- no, call me stupid. I will never do it again. As for pizza gum, she swallowed it just as she was getting to the good flavor. I am 90% sure she was saying, "piece of gum" , but with her who knows? She talks about any and everything!

I love the picture. It just seems reflective or something.

What a great teacher gift idea! I don't think my Target has any beach towels right now though...snow sleds maybe. Pizza gum does not sound good at all!

I have asked my soon if he could just be quiet and relax before and he stops talking for 5 seconds to think about it and then he says no - I can't. So I give up. If he just didn't have to say "mama" before everything that comes out of his mouth it would be better. "Mama did you know..." and a second later "Mama that car..." Reminds me of when he was very young and barely even talking he would sit in the car and watch the oncoming traffic and say, "Bye-bye car" over and over and over and over. You gotta love the little ones!

I think the most important thing is the recipe for the spicy coleslaw....especially if it an asian type.

Pizza gum sounds GROSS!
