Do you remember the shot shot of Husband and Livi at the casing ceremony before he left for Iraq?
Today was the first formal day of back to work for Husband. His Division had the uncasing ceremony today.
All the homecomings are over. Everyone is officially back.
Today there was a formal cermony called an "uncasing" ceremony. Notice the guy holding the flag on the right? It is still in the "case" that they put it in to take over to Iraq.
It is a symbolic gesture of taking off the case that covers the flags or colors of each of the battalions that make up a brigade that make up a division of soldiers. Basically one Big Dog finished his job and another Big Dog took over.
This requires a Big Dog party!
and now the Friday fill in courtesy of the wonderful Janet
1. Once I was the only one of my friends to not have kids at 30!
2. I am finally over being sick.
3. Today at work I (is a stay-at-home-mom's work ever done?
4. What's Lost all about?
5. If I make a mistake I beat myself up about it.
6. When I woke up this morning, I thought I hope it isn't so windy today.
7. And as for the weekend, tonight I'm looking forward to a glass of wine, tomorrow my plans include lots of laundry and Sunday, I want to work on scrapbooks!

I'm glad you done being sick; I wish I was!
What you wrote in #4 was exactly the question I had in mind LOL!
Thanks for playing, enjoy that wine!
What awesome pictures of your hubby, daughter and the ceremony.
I just read your comment on my blog about my quilt and where I bought it. I love red! Perhaps you noticed? I'd love to tell you that I made it (I used to quilt!) but I bought it on sale (50% off) at Penny's about 2 years ago.
I must tell you, I have tears in my eyes. I've read quite a few of your posts.
You are an awesome woman.
What amazing photos. The one with your husband and daughter is the type of image that remains in your mind. He stands there in the powerful uniform, but with a soft expression as he holds his beautiful daughter, who clutches her precious and looks on . . . Wow.
Dang hormones.
I've got somethin' for ya!
I LOVE the picture of your hubby and daughter, precious. One for the scrapbooks.
My hubby misses being in the CAV, he misses wearing his stetson and spurs! ;)
Is EML the same as R&R?
What a powerful photo of your husband and Livi.
Thanks for explaining the casing/uncasing ceremony, neither of which I was familiar with.
I've never watched LOST ... don't know why, just never piqued my interest.
Glad you're feeling better!
loved all the pictures. i feel so bad about my husband leaving... and when he returns?? sorry lost what I was going to say
Hi there - thanks for visiting my Friday Fill Ins. You asked what jewlery sites I have visited and they were
http://lisaleonard.blogspot.com/2007/05/sterling-stamped-jewelry.html
and
http://inspiredsilver.com/index.cfm?fa=site.showcategory&product_category_id=45
but i only really like the necklace and bracelet from here. Janet (fondofsnape) led me to the second site.
I am glad you are felling better.
I do not understand the lost thing either.
I hope you have a great weekend.
That picture of your husband and daughter is beautiful! What a great capture.
I also don't get Lost. I really tried, but after a while, it became too exhausting, and I gave up!
Any requests for your PIF gift? I'll be starting on it soon. :)
I loved the picture of your husband and Livi.
Hope you enjoyed your glass of wine and are having a great weekend!
I have never heard of a casing ceremony, very cool to read about, thanks for sharing it.
How interesting about the casing. I love the photo of Livi and your hubby. Gorgeous.
When you find out about Lost, let me know. I've never seen it, but everyone seems to be talking about it. I'm feeling a little out of the loop. But then I have survived a life never having seen Hill Street Blues, which at the time made everyone think I was a real idiot.
Tonight we are watching "Premonition" and my toes are cold, tomorrow I will be resting and Monday I don't know what we are doing. Michele sent me. :-)
I a so glad everyone is home now. Love the picture of hubby and Livi. My how she's grown!
We had the exact same answer to the one about mistakes. Big surprise. ;-)
I don't think any mom's work is ever done!
I am glad you're finally feeling better.
I loved seeing the pictures of the ceremony - very cool!! Hope you are all having a good weekend - see you soon. Kellan
Love Love the picture of hubby and daughter - how amazing! What a Great thing to celebrate!
That photo of your husband and daughter should be framed and displayed in a prominent place in your home. Either that or sent to the newspaper: it's an incredibly poignant image.
Thank you for sharing this with us. What a powerful experience. I'm so glad he's home and safe.
What a great post! I love hearing your stories about the workings of the military!
Thanks for stopping by my blog. I wonder the same thing about LOST!
