Way Back Wednesday: Kool-Aidstache, cool, man...

Okay, I want to play, but don't have any old pics of me...but I do have this one of Livi from April 06...that would be way back for her..

Way Back Wednesday: Kool-Aidstache, cool, man...

So this week we're highlighting the country's most frequently seen accessory in small children during the 70s and 80s...the Kool-Aidstache
I am sure this is a popsicle rather than koolaide...but still the same outcome. When she was teeting we would give her popsicles to ease some of the pain. So here is my way back, Wednesday....a day late...par for the course after my week!
So what has been so bad this week.....is it the full moon? Does that really affect people? I certainly thought it did when I was teaching a room full of junior high kids! Does it affect toddlers? Does the lack of sunlight around here lately affect him? I don't know but the last couple of days he hasn't wanted to go to school. He usually loves it. His teacher, Mrs. C, had to coax him into the room today. Will had a really bad day. The only thing he would say was that he wanted to be home with me. It's not like Livi and I do anything extraordinary at home. We go to playgroup, library, music, shop....he does all this at school. Well, he doesn't shop, but he does the rest. So this leads me to the bigger problem...
I am having some problems with Will wanting to sleep in my bed. Since the husband is deployed, he just crawls right in. So do I walk him back to his room or let him sleep with me? Most nights I do walk him back to his room. Some nights he goes right to sleep, other nights he is up for several hours. I am afraid to let him cry because I think it will wake Livi up. Then we will have three cranky sleep deprived people in the house. What's a woman to do??
happy Thursday, y'all!

My children are older now, 17 and 10 but I do so badly remember the sleeping problems...arrgh! All I can say is do what you can and have to do to get through and so you all get the best sleep you can. It must be especially hard being on your own...but it will all work itself out in the end, they won't be damaged for life and you'll have a more peaceful existance...now who wouldn't want that :-)

After talking to the husband, that is exactly what he said...

Love the popsicle-stache! At first I thought she had gotten loose with a marker!

Like Nel said, whatever works for you. The Duckling slept in our room for almost 7 months (put her to bed in her own room she'd wander in with six armloads full of blankets and crap and go to sleep on our floor in the middle of the night). For awhile we thought about carting her back down the hall but the fact of the matter is we are VERY lazy in the middle of the night. She's been back in her own room for a few weeks now and it was totally on her own...as abruptly as the sleeping in your room started it will likeled end if you allow it to run its course and for Will to decide to sleep in his own room.

The bottom line is...whatever works for you and him both (like so long as he's getting sleep as well).

(crud that was long...sorry!)
