weekend recap

It has been a great weekend. Laid back, not too hot, a bit of rain to cool things off, kind of weekend.

We each took a kid out on a 'date'. Husband and Livi went to Olive Garden. All the wait staff loved her! Will and I had just as much fun at TGIFridays. He had 'dirt in a cup' for dessert. After lunch out the kids wanted to go to the park with the dinosaurs. I am surprised they even remembered this one. We haven't been to that park in over a year! It was fun. The kids are already planning the next date.

The caterpillars are doing great. We put them into the net mesh now that all of them are in the chrysalis stage. They do not like being taken outside when it is in the mid-50s here! That is the coldest it has been since February!

The best thing all weekend...I am a winner! I won a blog makeover from Nap Warden Designs. I am so excited to see what she does. Go check her out, she does some cute stuff! That's right and she is going to pimp my blog! whoo hoo

Happy Sunday, y'all!

I love love love that shot of those two, it warms my heart! That is a fantastic idea to do 'dates' like that. I saw something like that on Jon and Kate and immediately loved it!

That is why we started it. I figured if they could do it with 8, we could do it with two. But we each went with one kid, rather than the two of us with one kid.

It was fun, and we will definitely continue it.

Gosh, he's cute. I can see why you wait around for him to come home! ;)

Hurray for Saturday date! I'm so delighted it went well - that's just awesome! And what great memories for the kids - just a chance to be with mom or dad alone. You might have been inspired somewhere but it takes effort and love to make it happen - you rock!

Hurray for NapWarden - you'll love her. She was awesome with me - the best I've worked with EVER (and I've worked with a lot... sigh... of ... well.... never mind.)

Happy Sunday!

You are so lucky to win a blog makeover! I've wanted one for a long time. I can't wait to see what she will do too.

Taking the kids on separate dates is a cute idea!

Date night with the kids. How fun! And it will teach your son and daughter good skills for when they're old enough to go out with, well, "real" dates.

Congrats on your blog makeover win. :)

The date night sounds fun! And you're getting your blog pimped out!?!? Lucky duck!!

I bought that same top for The Duckling last week (that Liv is wearing) and the hopes of her ever getting to wear it here in there parts are diminishing as the weeks go on...it SNOWED here today.

TKW - That shirt is longer than normal. It looked funny with the khaki shorts. The shirt was almost as long as the shorts, so it looked hoochie. It looked a tad better with the skirt. But I think it would look super cute with some little capri length leggings.

You could put a little t shirt under it....i can believe it snowed. It has been in the 80's and 90's here. Then on Sunday it got down to the 40's at night, and barely 50 during the day. Freaked us out! LOL
