I think I made myself sick today.....well, just tummy sick, the kind of ooohheeyy sick when you worry too much.
Our realtor, Jean Shine is about as shiny as her name. She is this tiny woman with an enormous personality. When we lived in Kansas, she brought her Shine Team up there to sell houses to all the soldiers PCSing (Army speak for Permanent Change of Station....or moving) to Texas. The lady is brilliant. Here she has a known 30-40 families moving to her area. She set up a little room in a hotel just off post. We hadn't decided if we were living on post or off yet. So we were really just looking. She and her team welcomed us with open arms. They had little "Shine Team" t-shirts for the kids, a bottle of Texas wine, some lone star pasta, a bag of enough Texas info to choke a chicken, and even a little room set up for the kids to watch movies while we looked through their books.
Jean and her Shine Team sell more than 500 homes a year. She continually wins local, state and national realtor awards. I can honestly say that she is truly committed to you as a family. We have bought and sold with these large Team Realtors before....only to be disappointed and let down. That has never happened with Jean. I feel like a big commercial for the Shine Team, but it is so true. They do more than go above and beyond to make the sale go smoothly.
One thing she does is bring her entire team to your home so they have a first hand look at the ins and outs of your home. So at 9AM this morning, three huge Shine Team cars pulled up to my house......filing into my home like little ants, they looked at every nook and cranny! I almost felt like I was in junior high waiting for the popular kid to say "I love your house!"

They were gone as quickly as they came.....they did oohh and aww at a few things. One lady love the gates below the bar. One thought the orchid in my bathroom was real! It is a very good fake from Nell Hills. Of course they all loved Josie.
So do you want to see a looksey: our Texas abode

Oh wow, Tommie, what a home! I remember reading about those little plants in the windows above your jacuzzi tub. :)
Your home is beautiful! :) I'm sorry you have to move...
What a beautiful home! Here's hoping the next one is home-y and lovely too!
Well said...home really is where you hang your heart.

Your house is so pretty...I am sure you worked very hard to make it that way. You will do that to your next home...make it your very own.
On a sidenote, I saw your backyard....Texas sure is flat. ;)

Your home is beautiful and it sounds like the Shine Team really IS all that!
But I would hate hate hate the constant moving.
I'm in love with your house...and the price. I can't wait to get away from these Northern house prices...can you say 'gouge'? I knew you could.
It's very beautiful! Best wishes for a quick sale!
Beautiful house! Your home goes with you (even to Kentucky!!!), for a home is truly more than an address! You will make your next place as beautiful as the one you are leaving!! (Love the Shine team!!)

Gosh, Tommie. I am so impressed. Did you pick the colors for the walls? Did you actually paint?? Wow. I love every little detail. I bet that's a lot of work! I can't wait to see your manse in Kentucky! :)

Wow - what an absolutely gorgeous home! I love the fireplace! In Toronto where I am a home like that would be in the range of $700,000!
Beautiful home, Tommie...can't wait to see the next one!
It's adorable! And and neat as a pin, of course. ;)
Gorgeous!
Selling should be a cinch! Best of luck :)
LOVE your home...expected nothing less! Sorry that you will no longer live in the area, even though we haven't had a chance to get that cup o' joe yet or take on the outlets together!
I think Jean Shine is awesome! My dad and her husband once worked together ages ago and he has always said that they are such good people.
She has three houses listed on my block (one just sold!).
Best of luck to you and your beautiful family.
I also think that your pizza garden will be a huge selling feature!! Sounds yummy.
