PCS- Day 4.....what a day it was

PCS- Day 4.....what a day it was, originally uploaded by tommiea1.

The day started off with a bang....literally. A woman failed to stop at the light and banged into me this morning while I was taking the kids to school. Thank goodness no one was hurt. My part of my rear bumper is hanging on with a zip tie now, but it is still drivable. My first thought was, "You have got to be kidding me, you stupid (*&*&&." But then sanity set in and I am just thankful the airbags didn't deploy. That might have put a major damper on the drive to the beach.
On a good note, every single last solitaire item of our possessions is on a moving truck headed to KY. The kids went out to say goodbye to their toys one last time. The guys loading it on the truck were great. They filled 3/4 of that mongo Mayflower truck. Now it will go into storage until we find a house there. When this happens, it is like Christmas all over when you finally get your boxes. In the interim, I am always amazed at how few things we really need!
As for my After Action Review:
  • keep out the hanging stacker from the kids' closet to keep this week's clothes in. The master bathroom got way too messy.
  • make sure my insurance card is up to date for the car! (I have to print it out myself, and I always forget!)
  • Start planning meals from pantry more than two weeks out. Thankfully they packed some of it, but I really had way too much food in there.
  • Have more juice boxes for the movers and packers....who knew?

I think that is about it....overall this move has been very easy. Hopefully the finding the house part will be just as easy.

We head out to the beach tomorrow. Whew hoo, waves here we come.

Peace out

I think it's SO cute that the movers and packers like juice boxes LOL! I'm just picturing these burly men sipping on 'em...hehehe!

Congratulations! That's quite an accomplishment! Gosh, I'm so sorry about the car - I hope that is the only hiccup in your travel plans. I'm delighted that you are safe, sound and uninjured.

YIPEE!! Wave to the ocean for me! :)

Ugh glad the airbags didn't deploy either. You had the right attitude about it. :)
