weekly winners, April 27- May 3, 2008

Thanks to Lotus at sarcastic mom for hosting this fun way to see all those extra pics that I didn't blog about this week.
These are all from the Change of command we went to this week....apparently I didn't get my camera out much more than this! The caterpillars are still just hanging in the chrysalis stage, so no need to take their pics!
Will, just as the horses were charging across the parade field. The guys were shooting guns and hootin' and hollarin'....he loved it!

This shot just cracks me up, but it is totally all Livi. She was trying to imitate the band members as they walked in front of us. In no way, shape or form were they shrugging their shoulders....but in her little Liv-a-licious mind, they were.

I have come to love "the blur" so much, I have a set in my Flickr labeled just that.

I think these are donkeys.....but are the ones that pulled the schooner across the field.

We sat under this tree on a picnic blanket. It was a bit away from the crowded grand stands where the kids might be expected to be quiet for the entire ceremony!

A wheel from the schooner....

My favorite shot of the day, (well besides the one with the kids and Husband)....I swear this horse stuck her tongue at me just as I was taking her picture!

The horse made me smile, and I enjoyed all of your pictures this week! This series of pictures looks very "Wild West" to me as a European! LOL!
By the way, I love your photohunt picture too!

Horses shouldn't stick their tongues out at people. :)

Nice shots this week.

Hi Tommie - Great pix, as always!

I wanted to get back to you about the question you asked. Our cottage is/was a fixer upper.

Among the things we have done/tackled so far:

updated electrical
refinished the wood floors (ripped up carpet)
fresh paint inside & out
all new appliances
new HVAC & water heater
new roof
new gutters
new landscaping
new fence for yard
brought the grass back to life (it was a sea of clover when we moved in)
installed sump pump

hmmm...that's about all I can think of right now, I'm sure there's more. We've had a laundry list going since day 1, but at the same time, we've had loads of charm and character since the beginning, too.

Good luck with your house hunt. I will be looking forward to seeing where you end up!

Great shots, Tommie! :) My personal favorite is the horses tongue. It's like: after all of the hoopla, I'm going to stick my tongue out at you! :)

I think the schooner-pullers look more like mules - the ears aren't the right size in proportion to their heads. Were they the same size as the horses? If so, then they were definitely mules.

(Not that I have much basis to nitpick. Do you remember Big Deuce from Ft Sill? He was a donkey, but represented 2-2 FA's history as the "mule artillery." :p)
