how old is too old???

***This is one of the older pictures I have already on Flickr of both kids.....I think Princess is about one here and Bubba would be 2 1/2.***

I think my babies are growing up. Tonight while we were getting ready for baths.....a job that Husband has resumed......meltdowns were happening all over the house. We decided to do a bath in the "big tub" <----the Jacuzzi tub in the master bathroom.

One was flipping out because his backpack wasn't where it was supposed to be. The other was freaking out because she wanted me to do something or the another. So finally just to make things simple, I decided to get in the bath with them. I could wash the Princess's hair quickly and be out of there quickly!

Yeah right, that was the first mistake I made. ....NO ONE gets a quick bath on meltdown nights. I was holding the Princess in my lap and all of a sudden she makes a lunge towards 'the girls'.....WOOAH! Dude, those things dried up long ago! I nursed her to almost 15 months of age....but still....it is long gone! Husband is making comments from the cheap seats outside the bath!

So, I guess the age has come, no more taking baths with them. They are 3 1/4 (do NOT forget the 1/4) and 4 1/2. So has the time come.....the end of just hopping in to get things done??

What age did you stop bathing with your little ones?

I still end up showering with mine...he just comes in and strips down. Next thing I know he is screaming at me to quit blocking the water. He is not four yet...a few more days.

Aww man, since I only have 1 16 month old son I am completely useless to you. But I so love that shot of them. WOW, all sorts of cute!

Hey, how is your husband adjusting to home life? And you? All well? I assume so if you've already have him back on bath duty! :)

I think I may have hopped in once while SB was six but that was the last time, and I wouldn't do it again.

He still loves baths but we usually try to do showers to save time (and to limit the "water water everywhere").

I don't have kiddos (yet) so I can't weigh in on this one but I sure can appreciate the story!

Yikes, my little one gives me a "shower" nearly every evening. Can't wait for bath time, can't lie.

A good friend of mine said she turned bath time into an adventure--they had all sorts of toys. She washed them (and herself) while they played. Worked great. When the tub got too small, she gave each one his/her special time with mom in the tub. I think they are all over 5 now and she probably stopped bathing with them not all that long ago. I used to miss her bathing stories, but now she has a while new crop of funny ones to share . . .

No kids here so I am of absolutely no help but thanks for the laugh!

I'd say... take Wendy's advice and turn bath time to shower time. I have vague memories that this is how my mom did it.

I usually bring the Manimal in the shower with me. It's just easier. He hates it, but even with the flailing and screaming, it's easier that the tub.

I used to shower with both of them - they would get in with my and play while I showered (it was a tight squeeze) and then I would do them. I stopped doing that when I could trust them for 20 minutes while I was in. That was around 4 or so. They stopped bathing together around the same time (my daughter was 6 and son 4). I neve really bathed with them though - too much slippery wet coldness going on for me!

My son is only 2 so I am still bathing with him. I guess I'll just watch him for cues as to when he's had enough, is embarassed etc.

Somewhere between 3 and 4, when they were old enough to notice seperate parts, when they were younger it was just all one big body.

I can't remember with teenage daughter but with manchild it was about 3ish. He kept staring at his former source of nourishment LOL

Never. David has showered with them, but not in a while. For me, shower and bath time is MOMMY TIME, and nobody invades that.

I probably stopped at about age 4 or so - but, I did get in the shower recently with Alexis - it was fun for her - not me so much! Take care. Kellan

I had a great cheap laugh at your expense picturing this! I guess I'll get it in return one day!
