Our new KY abode

Our new KY abode, originally uploaded by tommiea1.

We found a house after just a few hours of searching. We started bright and early at 9AM. We looked at probably a dozen houses. Over lunch we narrowed it down to our top three. We went back to do a second look at our top two.....finally ....we have a new home!

I really loved this inside of one. It had great colors already on the walls. It had a huge corner lot with a black iron fenced yard with gorgeous landscaping. BUT it was a corner lot into the entrance of the neighborhood. While we were there several cars flew around that corner at break-neckspeed. We may as well have sold the Powerwheels, scooters, bikes, and all the outside toys. So despite it being my top choice, that was a deal breaker.

So...this house was the next choice. Very much like the first one, but needs a bit of paint on the walls. It also has a finished basement. That adorable playroom is down there, as well as am office.
This house is on the dead end of a very flat street.

Breaking it down into the GOOD: We got it cheaper than the asking price, they are paying some of OUR closing costs, It is a great fit for us....I even get to buy new dining room furniture. There is new textured burbur carpet downstairs.

the BAD: We don't close until July 24, so we are still homeless.

and the UGLY: that sponge painted kitchen with grape cut out wall paper border will be the first to go!

We are currently in OH with Husband's family. There is a new baby born just this week! They are loving playing with the cousins. It is rare that they are the "big kids" in the group. So we are just hangin' out for just a bit.

The house looks beautiful! Congratulations!! Love the playroom and the safe quiet location ... you can't put a price on the latter. I hope you will be very happy there.

Oh my gosh. GOOD job! It's wonderful! Best of luck with the transition part. I just did it, and I know how much it stinks.

I am so impressed - you are so darn efficient! Is your husband too or is it just you and he's super agreeable? wow. I love the house - where's the pool?

We knew we had very little time to look...I am sick of being homeless! I have worked with a realtor for the last two months. I have "seen" the inside of about 50 houses either through those virtual tours or pics. So we really had it narrowed down to about 15 houses before we even got there.

He isn't super organized, but he is willing to let me do most of the deciding on the house. I really did love the one we didn't pick. But he was the one to point out that the speed people were coming around that corner. So between the two of us it was a quick decision.

The yard is actually big enough for a pool, but we will only be there 3-4 years. Not enough to invest $$$$$ in for the long term. But there will be another play structure and a trampoline!

Yay for you!!! The house looks great! How close are you to Louisville? We are contemplating a move . . . Louisville is one of our options. Could happen really fast.

In OH? Wonder how close your are to me!!!

Looks and sounds fabulous-even with the early 90's kitchen. :) A playroom is worth it's weight in gold, as is a dead end street!!

Woohoo for finding your house so quickly. I love all the colors and what a fun playroom.

I'm sure those three weeks will zip by (well...it *could* happen!)
