Photohunt: Truly my favorite thing these days, a SOLD sign in our frontyard

this week: share ANY photo
next week: candy

My creation, originally uploaded by tommiea1.

so so happy to have this sign in our front yard......Kentucky here we come!

But if I were to pick favorite shots of the kids...this one of Livi captures her happy-go-lucky self!

This shot of Will and husband was mere minutes after he got home from a 15 month deployment . It is still one of my all time favorite shots!

Thursday 13.....#37....the letter Q

In keeping with the ABC theme for 2008, I am on letter Q:

glass flowers, originally uploaded by tommiea1.

1. quickly: So excited we sold the house so quickly (in about 30 something days!!). If you look closely, you can see the house across the street unside down in the glass.

2. queen: I do hope my friend Claudia gets her queen bees.

3. QVC: I have bought stuff from there.

4. Quiznos: love me some Quiznos....good thing they don't have a drive through

5. quit: I quit teaching five years ago this month! I had to go on bedrest while pregnant with Will shortly after Spring Break. I never went back.

6. quiet: those words have NEVER been used to describe me.

7. quite: I am not quite sure if I am ready to do a move again! I guess it doesn't matter if I am or not!

8. quake: The first time I felt an earth quake was when we lived in the east Bay of SF three years ago.

9. quarters: I have all the state quarters since they started releasing them.

10. quarters (as in housing on post): I hope we get quarters on post in the old historic district at Fort Knox.

11. quarrel: I hate to quarrel with anyone.

12. quack: My mom frequently tries quack-like meds. My favorite one she tried was something called colidial water.

13. quote: favorite quote, okay it is a song lyric From Stand by Rascal Flatts
You feel like a candle in a hurricane
Just like a picture with a broken frame
Alone and helpless, like you've lost your fight
But you'll be alright, you'll be alright
Chorus:'Cause when push comes to shove
You taste what you're made of
You might bend 'til you break'
Cause it's all you can take
On your knees you look up
Decide you've had enough
You get mad, you get strong
Wipe you hands, shake it off
Then you stand, then you stand

see saw- taken by Will

see saw, originally uploaded by tommiea1.

Kind of brain dead, so I decided to go to the 17th page of my Flickr, find the 17th picture, and blog about it.....today is April 17th isn't it???

Ironically, it is a see saw of the kids that their grandparents got them. But it personifies my day to a T......

UP: Yesterday we received an offer on the house!

DOWN: It was for much less than we have it priced.

UP: Got the counter offer back to the Shine Team by 9AM....thinking we would hear from the potential buyers soon.

DOWN: this afternoon, received a verbal counter-offer, (still not even close to what we want!

UP: They wanted my pot rack, maybe I'll get to keep it!

DOWN: 9 PM, still no hard copy of their counter offer.

UP: It has only been listed since late March.

DOWN: Maybe someone else will want my pot rack, my cool fridge that we just got when we moved here, and the play structure.

UP: I know someone will love my home as much as we do, I just need to be patient.

DOWN: Patience is not my strong suit!

UP: I think that is enough up and down for one day!

Happy Thursday, y'all!

a beautiful day in the neighborhood

How can you not be outside when it is like this? Blue skies, scooters, bikes....and silly kids.

BTW, we had someone come do a second look this morning. I had planned on getting some extra sleep after the kids went to preschool. ( I am coming down with a cold or something)....but the realtor called. Maybe I should make plans to sleep in every day! We didn't hear anything, so I guess they choose the other house. But it is good to know that our house was in the top two. They did want to move in in late May. We told them we had to stay at least until the end of the school year (late May). We would have had to move into one of those home-tels until we got housing in KY....but at this point, if the house sells, I will dance naked in the streets......oh wait, that might be a bit extreme, but you get my drift!

Happy Thursday, y'all!

flower at the duck pond

flower at the duck pond, originally uploaded by tommiea1.

Anna of Anna Carson Photography issued a yellow challenge earlier this week. I knew I wanted to participate. There are these huge yellow flowers at the park the kids play at all the time. Against the blue sky, they are simply striking. Flowers always seem to give me hope.....they are so beautiful and to easy capture a great photo.......which bring me to today's thoughts.

Since we have listed the house, it has been a roller coaster. After the Shine team did their walk through preview they sent us a list of postives and negatives. I am so glad they didn't share this with me the day they did the walk through. I would have burst into tears. Of course they loved all the many things we did....the overall floor plan, my decorating, the large wooded area behind the house, etc. The negatives kind of surprised me.

We have a huge wall in our bedroom that I had family pictures in all black frames with white mats. There were probably 20 of them randomly up there. They said we had too many family pics in the master bedroom.

We also needed to move the water hose to the side of the house. Finally I needed to replace a light fixture in the office. Very simple things that were easy to change.

While getting the light fixture at the light store, I noticed a huge (about 5 feet by 2 feet) rectangle oil painting of some poppies. I knew that it would be our Texas art. I didn't get it as it was over our "don't purchase without running it by the spouse" limit. But Husband happened to run home for a late lunch. I asked him about it...quick agreement it would be great, so off I went back to the lighting store. Who knew they had art there!

So, now that oil painting is hanging in our bedroom on that wall. The family pictures are stored away until out next home. Finally, we have followed their suggestions....so hopefully another family will fall in love with this house we have made our home. We knew it was the house for us as soon as we walked through the door......hopefully some other couple will feel the same way!

Fort Worth Zoo

Fort Worth Zoo, originally uploaded by tommiea1.

I am kind of doing things out of order.....we did the zoo second, but these shots were so much more fun to edit!

We were on Spring Break last week, hence the hiatus. We did a little fun trip to the D/FW area, then to my mom's home.....otherwise known as the land of no internet....NOT even dial up.

We spent a gorgeous morning at the Fort Worth Zoo. We had a great time, had some balmy weather, and no crowds. It pays to have kids who get up at the a$$ crack of dawn. We were ready and waiting when they opened the turnstiles.

On another note: we listed our house last week. So let's begin the time of leaving the house in show-quality order! We had someone come by today (of couse it was during Livi's nap time) but Will and I just went out back. Fingers crossed that it sells before we leave in July/August time frame!

Happy Monday to y'all too!
